Microsoft geofencing increases foot traffic 89%

Microsoft has been testing location-based geofencing within a 10-mile radius of North American retail stores in order to attract foot traffic. In testing of geofencing initiatives for 75 stores in late 2013, Microsoft said it lifted foot traffic numbers 89% compared with consumers who did not see the ads.
