Study: British children spend pocket money on sweets

The lion's share of children's pocket money is spent on food and drink, with girls spending more per week than boys, according to the U.K.'s Office for National Statistics. Confections, however, are facing increased competition as children gravitate toward clothing, games and mobile phone purchases, the agency found.
