Philadelphia's new police commissioner, Charles H. Ramsey, is considering creating an LGBT unit based in the city's main gay neighborhood and wants to provide gay-sensitivity training to all department personnel. Ramsey successfully launched an LGBT unit during his previous stint running the Washington, D.C., police department. "My goal is to create an environment where officers don't feel intimidated in any way," Ramsey said. "If they want to acknowledge [their sexuality], they should feel comfortable doing it."
