Study: High pressure can be used to generate new tissue from cartilage

U.S. bioengineers found that intense high pressure can induce cartilage cells to generate new tissue that has almost all of the qualities of natural cartilage. The method does not require stem cells and also shows potential "for tissues to repair bladders, blood vessels, kidneys, heart valves, bones and more," the lead researcher said.
