BofA's Lewis says feds pressured him to complete Merrill takeover

A representative of the Federal Reserve said the Fed would comply with a request from House lawmakers to turn over communications related to Bank of America's acquisition of Merrill Lynch. The subpoena covers e-mails and handwritten notes between Fed Chairman Ben S. Bernanke, former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Kenneth Lewis, chairman and CEO at Bank of America during the takeover. Lewis said Bernanke and Paulson pressured him to complete the acquisition despite "significant accelerating losses" at Merrill.
