DOT urged to delay decision on Star Alliance antitrust immunity

Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee have asked the Department of Transportation to wait until a review of trans-Atlantic carrier competition is completed before it makes a decision on antitrust immunity for the Star Alliance. "It remains our view the DOT should only grant antitrust immunity to airline alliances sparingly and only upon a determination that the immunity sought will not harm competition," the senators' letter said.
