It can be hard to detect a problem worker in a company's IT staff, because technology professionals "generally work with supervision levels much lower than Industrial-Revolution factory workers," writes Jonathan Feldman. The best bet, Feldman advises, is to create an atmosphere of candor; if bosses focus on being honest and transparent, rather than harsh and strict, they are more likely to get the results they want.
