Software allows designers to map buildings' mechanical systems

A design tool dubbed CAD-Duct allows designers to produce 3-D models of buildings that include all of the structures' mechanical and electrical systems. More than 60% of the 100 leading engineering contractors in the U.S. are using the software, which was first developed by software house MAP. Observers also note that the software allows designers to detect conflicts in design interfaces earlier in the process.
