Verizon Wireless sells 800K Alltel subs to ATN

Verizon Wireless has sold $200 million in assets covering 800,000 Alltel customers across six states in mostly rural areas to Atlantic Tele-Network, a divestiture that federal regulators ordered in accordance with Verizon Wireless' merger with Alltel. ATN, of Salem, Mass., said it would pay for the systems with cash and loans under a current debt facility.
