Alternate-day fasting can aid in weight loss

Nutrition expert and researcher Krista Varady says that every-other-day fasting, which allows only one big lunch on fasting days, can be a good alternative to a diet of daily calorie restriction. The assistant professor of kinesiology and nutrition at the University of Illinois at Chicago says a study found people who tried the fasting routine for 10 weeks lost from 10 pounds to 30 pounds.
