2 Senate panels vie for primary jurisdiction on RFS

Two Senate committees -- the Environment and Public Works Committee and the Energy and Natural Resources Committee -- are claiming primary jurisdiction over the Renewable Fuel Standard. The standard is administered by the Environmental Protection Agency, which would put it under the purview of the Environment and Public Works panel. However, Rep. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., said the RFS was created by a 2005 energy bill and involves fuel, which would put it under the jurisdiction of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
