Chains draw in diners with $5 promotions

The $5 price point may be the magic number for many quickservice and fast-casual chains looking to boost traffic, as evidenced by Subway's highly successful $5 Footlong campaign. More recently, Pizza Hut launched a $5.55 pizza deal to celebrate its 55th birthday, and Dairy Queen now boasts the $5 Buck Lunch. KFC, Taco Bell and Long John Silver's offer similar $5 deals.
