Chinese regulator allows ETFs investing in gold bullion

The China Securities Regulatory Commission has approved requests by Guotai Asset Management and Huaan Asset Management to market two exchange-traded funds investing in gold bullion. The ETFs will trade on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and will be linked to the spot price of gold on the Shanghai Gold Exchange, company spokesmen say. Fundraising for the ETFs has yet to begin, and the eventual sizes have not been disclosed.
