Coal: A significant source of economic, job growth in Mont.

The coal industry in Montana is vital for the state's economic and job growth, but proposed rules from the Environmental Protection Agency "threaten to stifle the advancement of clean coal technology," writes Bill Kennedy, Yellowstone County commissioner. "Coal development supports hundreds of high paying jobs and generates millions of dollars in tax revenue for Montana," Kennedy argues. "Historically, it is our most consistent fuel energy source and, without fail, our most affordable source for dependable, reliable energy."
