EAA drums up support in opposition to FAA's $500,000 controller bill

The Experimental Aircraft Association's chairman, Jack Pelton, has reached out to Wisconsin senators for support against a $500,000 bill the Federal Aviation Administration issued to pay for air traffic controllers at this year's AirVenture event. About 27 other senators have co-signed a letter to FAA Administrator Michael Huerta. However, Pelton said that the EAA will pay the bill if necessary to keep the event's ATC tower fully staffed.
