Ex-SEC investigator gets $580,000 to settle termination claim

The Securities and Exchange Commission has paid David Weber, former chief investigator in the Office of Inspector General, $580,000 to settle a claim that Weber was fired to stop his inquiry into misconduct within the agency. Weber claimed former SEC Inspector General H. David Kotz improperly supervised investigations of people with whom he had a personal relationship.
