Economic and clinical data show that patients get increasingly more for their money when it comes to new drugs and technological advances, writes Dr. Scott Gottlieb, a former FDA official and a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. New drugs carry high prices, he writes, but they have allowed outpatient care that prevents even more expensive hospital stays.
