Gene associated with scoliosis identified

A gene that is associated with the development of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis has been identified by scientists at Japan's RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences. The gene, GPR126, plays an important role in bone tissue development in the spine that affects overall height and trunk length.
