Math journals and learning stations are two tools educators from a Tennessee district recently learned about during a workshop aimed at supporting implementation of the state's new Common Core State Standards math curriculum. Presenters noted that journals provide a place for reflection and organization, and stations encourage active learning. "We're learning new games and hands-on activities, as well as how to make stations more focused on math," kindergarten teacher Jeremy Kerr said. "If they're (students) having fun, they're learning."
