Officials in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools in North Carolina are considering a universal, free breakfast program for all students, following success of the program in four pilot schools. Supporters say the universal breakfast program would remove the stigma for students receiving free and reduced-price breakfasts and help expand access to the meals, which are credited with helping improve students' behavior and academic achievement.
