Parents age 35 to 44 lead tablet-adoption surge in U.S.

One third of American adults have a tablet computer, according to a Pew Research Center survey, a dramatic rise from the 3% of adults who owned tablets in 2010. The report found that tablet ownership increased the most in affluent households and adults from 35 to 44 who are parents. "[W]hen it comes to tablets, adults in their 30s and 40s are now significantly more likely than any other age group to own this device," said Pew's Kathryn Zickuhr.
