Twitter's Maheu predicts social nets will boost live-TV numbers

A Twitter executive suggested this week that the rise of social media will spur more live television viewing as consumers fend off "spoilers" delivered through media such as Twitter and Facebook. Twitter's Jean-Philippe Maheu, former CEO of Twitter acquisition Bluefin Labs, said that Twitter owns 95% of social conversation about TV and that 40% of smartphone owners use their devices while watching TV.
