Viewers are spending more time watching TV, Nielsen finds

Viewers in the first quarter of 2013 spent more time watching traditional TV than in the year-ago period, although the number of viewers declined, Nielsen reports. Time-shifted viewing increased in terms of viewers and time watched. "Still vibrant, traditional TV is thriving as viewers continue to go to their sets for entertainment and information that appeals to them," Dounia Turrill, Nielsen's senior vice president of insight, wrote in the report.
