Brands need to recognize that not all image-based social networks are created equal, says Curalate CEO Apu Gupta. Some platforms work well with fan-generated content, while others are more geared toward professional images, Gupta says. Brands also need to learn to distinguish between temporal networks that thrive on news-based images and thematic networks where brands need to be able to communicate their story through picture.
