The Fort Sill Apache tribe filed a lawsuit on Monday against the National Indian Gaming Commission over a shuttered New Mexico casino. Facing fines of $25,000 a day, the tribe closed the Apache Homelands Casino in 2009 after the commission said its bingo games were illegal. The commission has not yet reviewed the case as promised in the past five years. "We are asking the court to do what the NIGC promised to do five years ago -- review our case in a reasonable amount of time," said Jeff Haozous, tribal chairman.
