Ga. 5th-graders find "101 objects" representing local history

Fifth-grade students from Cheatham Hill Elementary in Cobb County, Ga., launched a local history research project in which they found 101 items that defined the county to them, and then featured the items in a magazine. Inspired by a Smithsonian magazine article featuring "101 Objects that Made America," students recorded QR code-accessible biographies and toured the Marietta Museum of History, which was presented with a copy of the publication. "We had fun creating this project," said their teacher, Nancy Ernstes.
