Study says early prescription of ACE inhibitors helps diabetics

ACE inhibitors such as Accupril and Zestril for lowering blood pressure apparently also improve the survival rate of diabetics who do not have heart disease, according to a study published in Diabetes Care journal. The study supports a common practice of physicians to prescribe ACE inhibitors to patients considered at lower risk for type 2 diabetes.
