California asks retiring scientists to teach math, science

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is asking scientists and engineers nearing retirement to take substantial pay cuts to teach teenagers math and science. As baby-boomer teachers retire, the state will need some 100,000 new teachers, about a third in math and science.
