Classroom fitness workouts aim to keep kids active

Foot-stamping, hand-clapping and sit-ups are falling between lessons in cursive and addition for more students as a federal law takes effect requiring schools to provide daily physical activity. "The idea is that it's not enough to have ... gym class twice a week," said one physical-education director. "Kids need to be physically active during the day, every day."
