Inflation puts pressure on global markets

Financial markets around the world are starting to show signs of pressure wrought by inflation. The Shanghai Composite Index dropped to its lowest point this year on Tuesday and Vietnam devalued its currency. In the U.S., investors are selling off U.S. Treasury securities as concern mounts that the Federal Reserve may raise interest rates this fall to curb inflation.
