Hydropower developer proposes turbines in Mississippi River

A Massachusetts hydropower developer wants to install hydrokinetic turbines below navigation depth in the Mississippi River. Each turbine could generate 1,600 megawatts of power, which would have to be transmitted ashore. However, some boat operators are concerned about running afoul of the turbines in low-water conditions.
