Foxtail weeds could prove dangerous to dogs

After a wet spring season, dogs are facing a new threat: foxtail weeds or cheatgrass. "Once they sprout and dry out, the weeds become a sharp arrowhead that will penetrate into ears, eyes, the skin, the mouth," one veterinarian said. Pet owners should seek immediate veterinary help if their dogs are scratching a lot or seem irritated for days, experts say.
