Georgia governor blocks concealed-carry law for state airports

Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue has vetoed a controversial bill that would have allowed concealed weapons in the non-sterile areas of state airports, drawing praise from the Savannah Morning News. "Had this measure passed, it would have endangered the traveling public and increased the potential for a closure at the nation's busiest airport, Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International," writes the paper's editorial board.
