New Jersey lawmakers hear opposition to sports-betting bill

New Jersey lawmakers received a letter from the New Jersey Casino Association opposing sports betting. The state Assembly's Regulatory Oversight and Gaming Committee has been considering a bill that would call for a referendum on sports betting. A key lawmaker said Harrah's Entertainment, which owns 52 casinos worldwide, opposed the bill because it would compete with the company's Las Vegas casinos.
