New tool promotes sustainable design

The American Institute of Architects released a tracking tool that is Excel-based and generates a report on predicted energy use and project modeling. The group is hoping the product, called the 2030 Commitment Annual Progress Reporting Tool, will be another step toward getting members to design carbon-neutral buildings and practice sustainable architecture. The tool was initially designed for architecture firms but is also being adapted for structural engineers.
