Schlumberger may redistribute Gulf staff, equipment

The U.S. deepwater-drilling ban has prompted oilfield services provider Schlumberger to study the redeployment of its workers and equipment from the Gulf of Mexico. Andrew Gould, CEO of Schlumberger, said that while the moratorium presents a challenge to the industry, "in the longer term, deepwater production will remain an important source of future global oil supply."
