The Senate on Thursday voted 53-47 to reject the resolution offered by Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, to block the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating greenhouse-gas emissions. This could pave the way for Congress to tackle the climate-and-energy package unveiled last month by Sens. John Kerry, D-Mass., and Joe Lieberman, I-Conn. Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., has said that he wants to see a climate bill on the Senate floor in the coming weeks.
