Mich. veterinarian urges horse vaccinations against EEE, West Nile virus

Michigan's state veterinarian, Steven Halstead, is advising equine owners in the state to protect their horses from Eastern equine encephalitis and West Nile virus by having them vaccinated against the mosquito-borne diseases. The alert comes as mosquito numbers in the state are expected to be especially high this summer.
