Are startup accelerators worthwhile?

Y Combinator and TechStars are two of the most well-known startup accelerators, but there are a host of other organizations designed to help entrepreneurs get their ideas off the ground. No two accelerators are the same, and each comes with its own pros and cons, writes Dani Fankhauser. Accelerators may vary in terms of the amount of equity they take, where they are located and how they are perceived by venture capitalists, she notes.
