Court hears arguments in New York City's soda ban appeal

An appeals court in New York heard arguments Tuesday in the city's appeal of a lower court's March decision to strike down a ban on sugar-sweetened drinks larger than 16 ounces. Health commissioner Thomas Farley said the city needs the law to help combat rapidly rising diabetes rates, while a lawyer for the American Beverage Association called the law "a breathtaking example of agency overreach."
