EU study finds no uniform ties between rising costs, medtech

A European Health Technology Institute review of 86 published studies found that the link between rising health costs and medical-device innovation is not consistent and that various factors such as whether alternative interventions are available may influence the effect of medtech on costs. Eucomed welcomed the findings and called for "a more balanced view" than the notion that medtech advancements are directly tied to higher costs.
