House Republicans to unveil cybersecurity measure soon

Reps. Patrick Meehan, R-Pa., and Michael McCaul, R-Texas, are close to introducing a cybersecurity bill that would guide the Department of Homeland Security's role in addressing cyberthreats. "We're hoping to get to markup on this thing within the next few weeks in subcommittee," Meehan said. A circulating draft shows the measure seeks to formalize the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center as well as establish industry "councils" that would guide cybersecurity compliance among U.S. industries.
