LinkedIn also can offer clues as to who can move a resume along, as well as contacting a hiring manager's assistant and getting to know him or her. "For a lot of these positions, they're getting 600-700 resumes. If someone the organization knows and trusts recommends you, it can move you to the top of the pile," Brady notes.
