NASA photo shows Mars boulder trail

A photo released by NASA last week shows the trail of a rolling boulder in the trenches of the Nili Fossae region of Mars. It is unclear what caused the boulder and smaller rocks to roll down the trench slope and further unclear as to whether the rocks were set in motion at the same time. Erosion of the underlying soil, a nearby impact, or even a Marsquake are possible explanations.
