Rail-trade groups voice concerns on deadline for PTC implementation

The Association of American Railroads is one of several industry groups that voiced concerns over "barriers" -- including interoperability negotiations with Class I's -- to the implementation of positive train control before the end of 2015, writes Julie Sneider. Members of the passenger-rail sector are also skeptical about the feasibility of meeting the deadline, said Rob Healy, vice president of government affairs at the American Public Transportation Association. "Basically, we need more time, we'd like some money and we'd like some help with the spectrum," Healy said.
