A sign in the Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn, N.Y., may soon come down, but not without a fight. Area residents and a local politician are gearing up to oppose a plan by the owner of the building to tear down the Kentile Floors sign, which does not have official landmark status but has been part of the skyline for decades.
