CMS issued $23.7B in EHR incentive payments through May

The CMS announced that the incentive payments it has issued to eligible providers since the EHR meaningful use program began reached $23.7 billion in May. Jennifer King of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT also reported at the HIT Policy Committee meeting on Tuesday that MU participation continues to rise, and only 3% of eligible providers had not joined the initiative as of last year.
