Ohio officials hope to expand glass-recycling pilot program

Almost three dozen bars and restaurants located in the North High Street area of Columbus, Ohio, are participating in a glass-recycling program, collecting a combined three to four tons each week since the start of the year. Experts say the need to recycle glass products is vital, and organizers hope more local businesses will participate. The state of Ohio produces 27,000 tons of glass waste per year.
