Green building standards embraced by U.S. municipalities

Cities across the U.S. increasingly are embracing LEED certification standards for city-owned municipal buildings and setting the standards for others to follow suit and build green. A new LEED report, compiled by the U.S. Green Building Council, which sponsors LEED certification, finds 41 U.S. city and county governments have adopted some form of LEED certification requirements in the construction or major renovation of buildings.
