New test may help pinpoint patients in need of ICDs

Harbinger Medical has devised a more precise test to spot patients at risk for sudden heart attack, allowing physicians to better identify those who need implantable cardioverter defibrillators. The startup company hopes to market the test, called the Wedensky Modulation Index, by early next year.
